Changing into dragons

The other night, I had this dream. I dreamed of going to another world with my significant other. When I got to this world, it was very beautiful.

In the dream, my significant other and myself transformed into dragons. Dreams are strange at times and this one seemed quite strange to me.

It started out with us asleep in our beds. I woke up from the dream but was still sleeping it seemed. The sounds of something rattling above me like chains or chimes.

I looked over at my significant other to see he was still sleeping. Strange it felt like someone else was in the room with us but no one was there that I could see.

Suddenly, we were both blasting toward this place leaving this world behind us. The sounds of dragons echoing around us.

Our human shapes were changing as we neared this new world. It was new to our human form but felt so familar to our dragon forms.

By the time, we had arrived on the surface of this world, we were dragons and no longer human.

I don't understand the symbolism of this dream only the feeling of an energy changing happening with it. If anyone has any ideas about it. Please feel free to share them with me.

Re: Changing into dragons

sounds to me like you could be heading for a major change in your life...or that you need to change something in your life, and you mentioned chains which could be symbolic of you being stuck or feeling stuck and unable to change something or do something different.
also look up the dragon and find its meaning and what it symbolises.

one thing you need to know about interpreting your dreams is that often it is what it means to YOU that is important, its all very well getting a dream book and using that or having someone else interpret its meaning, but it might mean something different to you, tell me what were you initial thoughts about what it could have meant?
and dont be afraid to say even if you think its wrong, because its only your ego making you feel that way and trying to make you ignore your intuition...usually you are right on target! emoticon

Re: Changing into dragons

It has been about 4 years since I posted the original post.

Reflecting back to that time, my significant other and myself were going through a lot of personal changes and growth.

Our partnership changed from live in to finding other places to live. Situations in our lives opened up new opportunities to grow and change.

The real test is allowing necessary changes.

I would say the dragons represented transition and growth. A dragon's fire has power to change or destroy. Sometimes, destruction can make way for bigger changes or growth.

The chains were things holding us back. The relationship was holding us back. When we let go of the relationship, we opened up to a much more complete friendship.

Dragons also to me represent great power. Dragons are respected and feared by some people around the world. Dragons are honored and considered lucky by other people and cultures.

To me a dragon does not represent evil as some people claim who used to tell tales of knights fighting a dragon. Often I think these tales, represent people's fears of the unknown. The monster under the bed or the dragon with power to destroy with fire.

Fire is powerful. A burning out of old so new growth can happen. After a forest fire, life returns and new growth happens. It may take years but often the old burnt trees grow new growth and the burnt is changed and new.
